Presenting Orpheus Institute - Doctoral Research Projects in Musical Arts
(released October 2007)

The past ten years, in the world of music and music education, musicians have developed an increased interest for diverse strands of research. This led to the introduction of a new (renewed) concept, namely that of ‘Artistic Research´ or ‘Research in and through Musical Practice´: a young but forceful framework that unifies praxis and reflection and that offers new opportunities in the field of musical and artistic development.

To let people explore the world of artistic research a little bit closer, Orpheus Institute is proud to present the artistic video DVD ‘Presenting Orpheus Institute - Doctoral Research Projects in Musical Arts´. Four doctoral fellows at Orpheus Institute present their individual research offering you a closer understanding of the characteristics of this type of research and the different types of research projects.
