docARTES: DOCTORAL PROGRAMME IN MUSICAL ARTS
DocARTES is the doctoral programme in musical arts running at the Orpheus Institute
The docARTES programme starts with a two-year doctoral curriculum (since September 2008, running as an international English-spoken curriculum) consisting of research and training.
Students continue their research after completing this two-year doctoral training course (monthly gatherings in Ghent - 10 sessions a year). During their research, students combine artistic performances at the highest level (concerts, recordings, performances, lecture-performances, etc.) with systematic theoretical reflection. The doctoral title is awarded to musicians who have completed the entire doctoral programme.
