Brussels National Airport (Brussel Nationale Luchthaven) is located in Brussels, Zaventem (approx. 60 kilometres from Ghent). At Brussels airport, you can take a train to Ghent. The train platforms are located on level -1 of the Terminal building. To get to the Ghent-Sint-Pieters station you have four options; all of them will take you to Ghent Sint Pieters station in about an hour!
For more information, check www.brusselsairport.be
Charleroi Airport (where the airline Ryan Air operates from) is situated in Charleroi and not Brussels; it's located at 46 km from Brussels (and approx. 90 kilometres from Ghent) and there's no direct connection to the train network. There's a public bus (Line A) or shuttle bus that connects the Brussels South Charleroi Airport to the Charleroi-Sud Train station from which you can take a train to Ghent .
For more information, check the Charleroi Airport website.

From the train station of Ghent-Sint-Pieters
Trains coming from Brussels stop in Gent Sint-Pieters station. At Ghent Sint Pieters Station you can take a taxi to the city centre (in front of the station, on your right); it takes about 15 minutes to get to the Orpheus Institute. Your best bet for swift and easy travel is without a doubt the tram.
Tram number 1 (red sign) departs from the tram and bus platform located next to the station (left when coming out of the main entrance of the station). You can also access the platform by going through the viaduct underneath the station. The small staircases at the end of each train platform lead you directly to this viaduct. Follow it to the end and then go left! You'll see the busses and trams lining up. To get to the Orpheus Institute: get off at the Korte Meer stop. Duration of the journey: 8-10 min
Tickets: You can buy tickets at the price of 2 euros on the tram but it's advisable to buy a multi-journey (10) pass. Tickets or passes can be purchased at one of the automats (at every tram stop in Ghent) or at any ticket desk/shop (‘De Lijnwinkel'). Nowadays some grocery stores and newspaper stands are selling tickets and passes as well!
